History

1989

• Stefan Duerr, a student of Bayreuth University (FRG), becomes the first West German exchange student to arrive in the Soviet Union for internship on the farms of the Kursk and Moscow oblasts.

1991

• Stefan Duerr is one of the founders and the first president of the Apollo International Association for the Russian-German student exchange.

1992

• Stefan Duerr begins to organise the production, certification and sale of organically grown products in Russia.

1993

• Under the aegis of the German Ministry of Food, Agriculture and Consumer Protection, German experts take up advising officials of the Russian State Duma and the Federation Council on agricultural legislation. Coordination of this work is assigned to Stefan Duerr.

The Beginning

1994

• Establishment of EkoNiva, a Russian-German company.

• Advisory services on organic farming to agricultural enterprises in the Kaluga, Orel, Bryansk, and Kursk oblasts.

• Assistance with development of fundamental laws in the Russian agricultural sector.

1995

• EkoNiva participates for the first time in the BioFach Organic Trade Fair (Nuernberg, Germany).

• Production, certification, and export of buckwheat grown organically in the Kursk oblast to countries of Western Europe - Russia’s first organic produce exported to developed countries.

1996

• The company starts importing farm machinery.

1997

• A plant for production of organically grown cereals is launched in Kaluga oblast.

• The beginning of implementation of a joint German-Russian project entitled “Rendering Assistance to Russia’s Seed Production.” The draft Law on Seed Production is finalised during a special workshop. December of the same year sees the signing of the law by the Russian President.

1998

• New activities are added - supply of agricultural machinery built by the world’s leading manufacturers, as well as of seeds from European breeders.

• EkoNiva participates in publication of “The New Agriculture,” Russian-German agricultural journal.

• Publication of the “Seed production policy in Russia,” a booklet which has played a major role in establishing a seed market in Russia.

1999-2000

• Signing of a dealership agreement with the Kverneland Group.

• EkoNiva’s rapid growth is linked to the intensive development of the Russian agriculture and introduction of new technologies in the farming industry. Agricultural enterprises began active use of advanced technologies and imported machinery, as they adopt agricultural practices from their foreign colleagues.

2001

• Bulk supplies of imported farm machinery to progressive enterprises of the Russian Federation. The Company’s service department goes through a period of rapid growth.

2002

• Establishment of regional subsidiaries in the Voronezh and Novosibirsk oblasts.

• EkoNiva’s first-time participation in the Golden Autumn trade fair, Russia’s major agricultural event.

2003-2004

• EkoNiva takes part in Russia’s first Field Day fest held in the Kursk oblast.

• First deliveries of John Deere and Vaderstad machinery.

2005

• Opening of a service centre in the Voronezh oblast.

• Stefan Duerr is awarded a silver medal “For Contributing to the Development of Russia’s Agriculture.” This is only the second time the highest award of the Russian agricultural sector is presented to a foreign citizen.

2006

• Signing of a dealership agreement with John Deere Corporation.

• Signing of a dealership agreement with Vaderstad.

• The Company starts publishing its own newspaper, EkoNiva-News, in Russian and English.

• Based on its farm machinery sales, EkoNiva becomes one of the largest dealers of the John Deere Corporation not only in Russia, but also throughout Europe.

2006-2008

• Establishment of regional operations in the Tula, Ryazan, Kaluga, Vladimir, Kirov and Kemerovo oblasts, as well as the Altai Krai .

2007

• EkoNiva enters a new area of activity – supply of AgGrowth equipment from North America to the grain handling and storage market.

• Stefan Duerr wins the national Pyotr Stolypin prize of the “Russian Farming Elite” in the category “Development of agricultural production and creation of new work places.”

• EkoNiva holds the first mini-football tournament for amateur teams of Russia’s leading farm enterprises. The grand prize is a John Deere tractor.

• Signing of a dealership agreement with JCB.

• Opening of a service centre in the Novosibirsk oblast.

• EkoNiva participates for the first time in the Agritechnika International Trade Fair (Hanover, Germany). The company’s stand is very popular with visitors.

2008

• EkoNiva holds the second mini-football championship for amateur teams of Russia’s leading farming enterprises with a John Deere tractor as the grand prize.

• Opening of service centres in the Tula, Ryazan, Kaluga, Vladimir and Kostroma oblasts.

• Participation in the first international specialised exhibition, Agrosalon 2008.

• EkoNiva wins John Deere’s Perform and Win programme.

2009

• Stefan Duerr awarded a cross "For Services to the Federal Republic of Germany" through the strengthening of Russian-German relationships.

• Farm machinery sales and service drops as a result of the global financial and economic crisis. The Company focuses on structural improvements and strategic planning. Special attention is paid to human resource development.

2010

• The EkoNiva-Kostroma machinery service centre opens.

• EkoNiva’s team takes runner-up in the regatta at the GEA Farm Technologies Rus dealer rally.

2011

• Signing of a dealership agreement with Poettinger.

• Commissioning of a John Deere dealer centre in the Novosibirsk oblast.

• Commencement of construction of Europe’s largest John Deere dealer centre in Detchino, Kaluga oblast

• Modernisation of the service centre in Tula oblast.

• EkoNiva participates in the Agritechnika International Trade Fair (Hanover, Germany). EkoNiva is the only John Deere dealer from Russia with its own stand at the fair.

2012

• Beginning of construction of new service centres in the Voronezh, Ryazan and Kirov oblasts.

• EkoNiva holds the third mini-football tournament for amateur teams of Russia’s leading farming enterprises. The grand prize is a John Deere tractor.

• Opening of an additional service centre in Krasnozyorskoe district, Novosibirsk oblast.

• Establishment of EkoNiva-Farm, LLC, a new subsidiary for the supply of equipment to livestock farming.

• EkoNiva participates as usual in the AGROSALON International Agricultural Machinery Trade Fair. The Company’s stand becomes the meeting point for representatives of leading agricultural enterprises of the Russian Federation and delegations from the regions.

• EkoNiva participates for the first time in the EuroTier International Livestock Exhibition. The Company stand is visited by delegations from Russia, and foreign partners also display great interest.

2013

• Opening of service centre in Kemerovo.

• Opening of the biggest dealership in Europe located in Detchino village, Kaluga oblast.

• Signing of a dealership agreement with Fliegl.

• Beginning of construction of service centre in Kirov oblast.

• EkoNiva-Chernozemye recognised as John Deere’s best dealer of the year.

• EkoNiva participates for the first time in the “Give way to milk” motor rally. More than 1,500 km were covered from Moscow to Chuvashia in support of Russian dairy farmers.

• EkoNiva-Chernozemye opens a new servicing centre in Verkhny Mamon village, Voronezh oblast.

• It also participates in the Agritechnica 2013 international farm equipment exhibition, Hannover, Germany. Over 100 Russian farmers attend the exhibition together with EkoNiva.

• The first cattle breeding facility, fitted with robotised milking equipment from GEA Farm Technologies, goes into operation in Kaluga oblast. On reaching full capacity, it will become the largest such facility in Russia.

• The President of the EkoNiva Group of Companies becomes a Russian citizen. Russian President Vladimir Putin signs a decree granting citizenship to Stefan Duerr for outstanding merits to Russia.

2014

• Stefan Duerr is awarded with the Order of Merit for the Kaluga oblast of the III degree.

• First-time participation in AgroFerma 2014 International animal breeding exhibition. The company’s booth becomes the venue for experience exchange and discussions of vital issues of the dairy industry.

• Participation in Dairy and Meat Industry 2014 International Exhibition. In recognition of EkoNiva’s weighty contribution to the development of agri-industrial complex of Russia, an honorary diploma in the Elite of the Dairy Business Professional Contest is bestowed upon the company.

• Opening of a servicing centre in the Ryazan oblast.

• EkoNiva welcomes the participants of the “Give Way to Milk” motor rally.

• Stefan Dürr becomes The Leader of the Year.

• EkoNiva turns 20.

2015

• Stefan Dürr becomes the only businessman to enter the top 10 most influential people in the Voronezh oblast in accordance with the data of “Abireg” business agency.

• Launching of the first GEA Farm Technologies 72-stall rotary dairy parlour in the Siberian region at Borkovo Dairy (2,500 head of dairy herd) of Sibirskaya Niva (Maslyanino district, Novosibirsk oblast).

• EkoNiva-Farm became an official dealer of Kerbl, a new partner of GEA Farm Technologies.

• Start of cooperation with Aimo Kortteen Konepaja Oy, the world leader in development and manufacturing of Murska equipment.

• EkoNiva participates in the Agritechnica 2015 international farm equipment exhibition, Hannover, Germany.

2016

• 10 years of cooperation between EkoNiva and JCB Companies.

• EkoNiva participates in AgroFerma 2016 International animal breeding exhibition.

• Participation in Dairy and Meat Industry trade show.

• 10 years of cooperation with JCB.

• Participation in AgroSib international trade show.

• Participation in EuroTier international trade show.

• Participation in the 10th exhibition Voronezh Field Day on the territory of EkoNivaAgro.

2017
