All-rounder for efficient farming

The telescopic handler JCB 531-70 Agri is considered to be one of the most popular models of its class in Russia. Machinery fleets of developing farms can barely do without this model which has proven its reliability, high performance and ease of maintenance.

Venevtsev A.V. farming enterprise located in Verkhnyaya Khava district, Voronezh oblast, purchased the JCB 531-70 Agri in 2018.

‘When we realised the need for a telehandler and got to choosing, we were guided by the experience of a neighbouring agricultural holding which had been actively using these machines for a long time’, relates Aleksandr Venevtsev, Deputy Head of the enterprise. ‘We could see the telehandlers constantly tackling a whole range of tasks and showing no signs of wear. We also considered models of other manufacturers as possible options but some of them were not satisfactory in terms of price, the other models had troubles with service or spare parts supply. We have been cooperating with EkoNiva-Chernozemye for a long time and we are sure there is no reason to worry about service and suitable leasing terms. Finally, we acquired something we are content with — the JCB 531-70.’

The enterprise owns over 2,000 hectares of land where they grow sunflowers, soya beans, sugar beets, wheat and barley. Recently, they have also set about dairy farming and now there are more than 150 milking cows. According to Aleksandr Venevtsev, the JCB 531-70 fitted with a fork and a bucket has significantly increased the production efficiency.

'As soon as we purchased cows, it became evident that we couldn’t do without a telehandler’, says Aleksandr Venevtsev. ‘We used to hire a contractor to load grain, feed and fertilizer, but then we made calculations and concluded that we had lost around 0.5 million rubles only on manure loading. Besides, we had to engage the third party for loading operations, which consequently resulted in huge expenditures of time and money. Thanks to the JCB 531-70, coping with all the tasks, we have already saved about 1.5 million rubles for the year.’

Venevtsev A.V. is also planning to enlarge the number of mounted implements with a silage fork and use the telehandler on the farm during winter.
