Väderstad presents its latestnovelty

2019.07.12

Farming will never be the same, just like the Väderstad Carrier XL 425-625 disc cultivators which can be fitted with unique CrossCutter Discs starting from this year.

By Viktor BARGOTIN

The CrossCutter Disc is manufactured using high quality Swedish steel V-55 at the Väderstad factory. New disc version will allow to use the Carrier XL 425-625 cultivator not only for a deeper incorporation, but also for shallow cultivation.

Providing full cut-out, the CrossCutter Disc ensures soil moisture retention for the future sprouts. The soil is not exposed to drying due to the working depth of 3-5 centimetres, the huge volume of residues in the shallow layer of soil reflects sunrays which also helps to retain moisture.

‘The CrossCutter Disc shape enables full cutting-out of crop stubble, cutting it in smaller pieces than with a conventional disc and intensive mixing at shallow working depths’, says Willi Drews, Doctor of Agronomy and Consultant of EkoNiva. ‘That means residues are likely to degrade sooner and they will not give any troubles when sowing next crops. Each disc is mounted to its own disc arm which ensures following the ground contour with high precision. Weeds and fallen seeds of the previous crop grow faster and are destroyed by further cultivation.’

Väderstad is presenting the new CrossCutter Disc for the first time at the international trade fair Agritechnica 2019. The technical division of EkoNiva will give its clients a perfect opportunity to be among the first to see and evaluate the exclusive novelty.
