Pottinger Day takes place once every two years. This year, the event, which gathered over 800 guests from all over the world, including politicians, dealers and journalists, was organised under the motto ‘WE SEED THE FUTURE’. As one of the leading dealers of Pottinger machinery in Russia, EkoNiva took part in the celebration.

At the press conference, Heinz Pottinger remarked that the enterprise is not only rapidly growing but it has also reached a new record turnover in the company’s history going back more than 140 years.

Pottinger Day in Austria‘Despite a general downturn in the market, we have increased our sales volumes in all areas’, says Heinz Pottinger. ‘Supplies of fodder harvesting machinery and tillage equipment have grown by 3% and 5% respectively compared to the previous year. The company is planning to increase the turnover to 450 million Euros by 2020’.

The increase in sales volumes is rooted in the high quality of Pottinger machinery. The guests visited the company’s production facility in Grieskirchen, where fodder harvesters and some tillage machines are manufactured. The specialists of the company gave a tour of all manufacturing departments: from the metal receiving hall to the facilities used for assembly of the machinery. The assembly line works 7 days per week, engaging three shifts of workers. The factory manufactures up to 20,000 units of machinery on an annual basis. The paint spraying lines are equipped with state-of-the-art powder-spraying outfit and are the pride of the factory. The complete painting process takes five hours, after which all the painted parts go through a powder coating durability test. All machines are subject to quality control at Pottinger’s own testing facility, one of the most advanced in the world. For the new models, the engineers design at least two prototypes that are tested in the technology centre and in the field.

Pottinger Day in AustriaAfter the tour of the factory, the company specialists organised a magnificent laser show to show off the latest machinery units. Later the guests assessed the technical capabilities of the new models at the field demonstration.

TERRASEM seeders, AEROSEM air drills, TERRADISC and  SYNKRO tillage machines, various combinations of NOVACAT mowing machines, HIT eight-rotor tedders, IMPRESS 155 V PRO baling machines, FARO and EUROPROFI pickup trailers are the innovative solutions from Poettinger designed to help agricultural producers run their  business efficiently. Most of these machines have been designed for European conditions so far. The guests paid special attention to the pioneering solution of the company – Aerosem 3002 - an all-in-one row-crop drill with a precision drilling option. The machine is equipped with the innovative system of Precision Combi Seeding (PCS) and a smart distribution system (IDS). An electric metering drive forms the basis of IDS. It can be managed from the tractor cab by means of POWER CONTROL or ISOBUS. The aforementioned system allows choosing any tramline width, row spacing, special tramline switching. IDS guarantees a consistent number of seeds in each row as well as seed savings. Last year, the AEROSEM seed drill was named Machine of the Year at Agritechnica 2013.

Pottinger Day in AustriaThe new NOVACAT S12, a mowing machine with a working width up to 11.2 m, was designed especially for Russia. This item can be coupled to tractors with a rated power from 160 hp. The new generation of AEROSEM 1002 air drills is also available for Russian agricultural producers. EkoNiva will start supplying the new items already this year.

‘We have been working with Pottinger successfully for four years,’ says Sergey Skrobkin, Head of the Sales Department of EkoNiva-Tekhnika. ‘During our cooperation, we have sold over 100 units of machinery to agricultural enterprises of the Central region, the Black-Soil region and Siberia. We are happy that the company is following the course of continued growth and designs its new machines taking into account the needs of Russian agricultural producers’.
